Got a corsa 2004 1.8 but dont think that matters since its a brake problem

To some it up since ive had the car the brakes make a noise like the pads are catching/low (sounds like a bird chirping lol) the noise is coming from the front passenger side. Ive had new pads and disks but this hasnt solved the problem. The noise is there nearly every day and is a constent noise and not just every so often, if i press on the brakes it stops but comes back once i have let go

Only thing i can think of is that the piston isnt going all the way back up after i have braked if you understand??

Any suggestions what it can be as this has been going on for a year now and cant solve it, also how can i elimate problems so i know it isnt that

Thanks

the pad is loose inside the calliper, therefor its rattling off the disc, take it apart and make sure the fork bit is pushed into the caliper, also put some copper grease on the slides (the bit used to bolt the caliper onto the carrier) and give it a general clean up

when the new pads were fitted the slides probably werent even taken out of the caliper and cleaned, as i caught the foreman doing it at my work before,

but i reckon thats your best bet,

also check the rears

Hmm it did the noise even b4 i changed the pads, so i dont think its that and they been cleaned and greesed & aint loose, if i put the window down on the passenger side you can hear it coming from the front so its def just that one. I really need 2 give some ideas to vauxhall as they aint even gona do it under warrenty because everytime i go the noise isnt there.

Any other suggestions?? & you dont think it could be the piston seizin (sp)?

You should get new slides IIRC, atleast im sure i did when i got my new pads, but i remeber my mate saying that he had problems with his when he changed them over, and they still squealed so might be worth taking a look at those while you've got the wheel off .

yes, non stop. Seems to be louder once the cars warmed up a bit, but just hold my foot on the brake lightly and it goes away.

Everyone just says brake cleaner and wire brush but not given it a go yet

Yup, those are the ones. No harm in taking the wheel of and having a good look at the brakes, as you should be able to see if anything's catching .

Jack it up. Wheels off. Start the car up, and put it in 1st. Now get your ear as close as you can to your brakes.

Even try and video it and put on Youtube.

Double check that everything it tight.

When you get home from work and it's making the noise, Spray water from your hose pipe over your wheels and Brakes. then go for a drive. See if it goes.

Did they change the Discs?

Ye discs and pads where changed, ive took a video ages ago of the car and you can hear it at the start if you ignore the exhaust.

Also what will happen if i do the first bit you said, sorry if am abit dumb lol

Also the bit about the water it doesnt do it & it doesnt not do it if you get me the noise just starts after ive been driving for about 5mins normally

Duno becoz i thought it may be as it sounds like its catching and ive done all the rest of the stuff and i was thinking that when i let off the brake it may not be full going back up causing the pad to catch on the disk slightly
