Had mine a couple of months now and i am seriously impressed with it.
The dashboard is a great feature, being able to download games/videos etc.
The arcade is also great fun when you want something less serious, or got 5/10 mins to spare.
Ive just got my windows connect software working with it also, amazing how you can share all your music/photos between the 2, my photos look even better on the tv
Backwards compatibility with old games is also impressive, found myself playing Forza last night and reminded myself how awesome the game is, it automatically updates the live service aswel.
The live service is also great, so easy to set up and theres always someone online (ps2 was crap for this)
I also plugged in my ipod and digital camera directly into the USB ports on the 360, and sure enough it picked them both up, was able to view pics off my camera and play music from the ipod.
Would just like to share that with you all, one of the most impressive pieces of kit ive ever had. PS3 has its work cut out thats for sure.

Got mine last week and I completely agree. Media connect thing is cool, bit pointless though as my computer is next to my 360 and PC has to be on anyway with all songs etc. Still a nice little function anyway.
Need to get my live account sorted out and get a couple of decent games and ill be sorted. Still mega impressed with it so far, also Wireless controllers are a god send.

Oblivion looks too complicated for me, not my kind of game.
My 360 has kept me sane over the last few months when i havent been working
Wireless controllers are a godsend, dont even have to get out of bed to turn it on

You just press the x button in the middle and it boots the console up

If you are impressed with the way it streams photo's and music you should try installing Media Centre 2005 on your PC and start streaming Divx films over a wireless LAN, now thats cool I've had loads of trouble with Divx players in the past not playing the odd film etc but the XBOX plays every film i've thrown at it. You can also download HD clips and enjoy some HD conntent on your TV which is realy cool, gives you a taster of what it will be like when you get Sky HD. HD films are rather big though at 11 gig for Pulp Fiction!!
Agreed though, best gadget i've ever had and the PS3 has got its work cut out! The only reason i'd think about a PS3 is GT5 HD when it comes out but it's going to have to be REALLY good to warrent spending £400 on a PS3, you could do a top driving day for that kind of money!

360 does'nt really output HD as it does'nt use a HDMI connector, or has a resoultion of 1080p

But doesnt sky HD only put out at 720p anyway so its as good as Sky HD? I know for it to be true HD it needs to be 1080p but its still higher than what we are used too. Looks bloody good whatever it is

you would see no difference between a component and an HDMI connection, imo

Media Centre is an OS, its basically XP Pro with a fancy front end that you can use on a TV. I've got a Dell PC upstairs which came with XP Home so I bought MCE2005 for £70 and installed that on my PC instead and it does everything XP does with the extra Media Centre bits as well. If you download Media Centre Connect you can then stream movies to your 360 as well as tunes and pictures.
If you can have a PC next to your TV then its pretty pointless but if like me the burd won't allow a PC whiring away in the front room then its worth buying. You can pause live TV using a media centre as well if you can plug a SVHS cable into your graphics card.
If you have a 360 downstairs and a PC upstairs over a wireless LAN then MCE2005 is the best £70 you'll ever spend
