Basically, my pioneer was nicked on friday night so i need a new headunit.
A mates selling the sony active black panel, (CDX-M730) the one with the detachable face for £100.
Or
Do i abuse my visa and get the Kenwood KDC 7024?

Sony are shit, crap sound quality. Go for Alpine for the best sound quality.

Was thinkin bout alpine too, i'm running a type r sub and the quality is amazing!
recommendations of a particular model, only want a single cd player.

I have a sony i know cybermonkey hates them but it kicks top sound through the standard spaekers it is a sony cdx-mp40 and it plays MP3,s Lee

i agree with leeshez, there's nowt wrong with them, got a CDX-MP70 looks the dogs, a hell of a lot better than any alpine can do, and it sounds a lot better than the kenwood i had in before, so don't se why everyone knocks them

sony's rule. I got te M730...definately get it m8...looks trick and great sound...esp with DSO and EQ7 on it.

yeah i have tyhe cdm-m730, and i strongly recomend it, i love it i only have standard speaker, but people think i have changed them as they sound much better, with this headunit.

we're not talking crap, were just voicing our opinions, and you are yours. ur just biased to alpine and follow the crowd when comenting 'sony are shit'...but the truth is their not m8. sony make good HU's that produce good sounds. the low cheap ones are not as good as with any brand....just with sony u gotta spend more money, but well worth the return in function and sound and looks.

YEAH the cheap sont head units are cheap but if u get one at bout £230 onwards, they are realy good

Go for it, my mates got a sony active black, dunno which model, but with the cash he's got its top quality. Looks so nice and sounds good too.
I got a pioneer myself, had no problems with it and I think the sound quality is good. Personal choice really, get what you think is good and looks good. People always have different opinions about which is better and stuff, but it comes down to your choice it the end.
