Same here. In 5 years the balance remaining has only reduced by 9k, despit paying in nearly a grand a month for the first 3 years and 750 for the next 2.

that's your issue - should have kept your payments at 1k even though your rate changed - that would have been another 6k off the bottom line

This is why I spent my car savings to make my deposit larger. Rather have more free money a month.

£15 a month is no issue but as i say, it's another out going. However, as CS failed i'll have to pay this

The difference is up north your deposit is about 5k. We had to spend about 22k just to move in.
