tight fisted as ever.... I dont want to pay someone for something I think I could do just as well (time permitting). How difficult is it to follow plans, and build a garage?

We need a 7.5m x 7m garage built. I would get the site cleared and foundations dug/laid....

Ideally sourcing the blocks and laying them I would do, before getting the roof done/steel beam for door done. With a bit of help I could do them too I think.

Any guides online - for brick laying/building? I understand straight edges/levels etc so the principles are there

Not difficult, have you seen some of the builders around?

Youtube should have some good guides.

Depends what your building it out of? Just blocks will be easy enough aslong as you get it all straight and true.

Easy enough, take time and make sure things are level and plum.

Square corner to corner setting out and build up.

I find YouTube a massive help.
Taught me to build stud walls. Plaster and tiling.

Whilst the 'pros' mock. I've built quite a bit of walling (garden type) using the bricky tool. Achieved some much better results than 'by hand'.

That's the one that Tommy Walsh advertises, it seems to give decent results for novice users; I might give one a try on our garden wall.
