i know this is a corsa site but by any chance does any1 know the bhp for a 2.0 8v atra gte? i know the 1.8 8v has 112 and the flagship 2.0 16valver has 150, bt my mate has the 8v 2 litre and were arguing sbout how much bhp it actually has. can any1 help me out??

I think 130bhp was just from the SRi 130. again not 100% sure.

1.8 8v was 115 was it not, 2.0 8v was 122 and 16v was 156, then 150 in later 16v astras, although some 16v ecotecs were 136. Confusing.
2.0 cavs were 115, and the sri 8v was 130, the 4x4 2.0l was also 130, the astra 2.0 8v was somewhere in between 2.0gli and sri cavs at 122 I got this from old copies of autocar i have

you r correct blackula the astra gte 2.0 8v had 122bhp@5600rpm 127lbf.ft torque@2600rpm 0-60 8.7 .top speed of 127mph

Yeah I read Autocar, used to have lots more info. Did you know for example the Cavalier 2.0 4x4 none gsi was faster than the sri , it says due to superior traction...
alo Nova 1.3 sr 10.1 0-60 ???? I didn't think was that fast

well according to total vauxhall the nove 1.3 sr does 0-60 in 12.5 69bhp
the 1.4 sri nova does 0-60 in 10.5
and i thought the cavalier 4x4 was a gsi engine with about 150bhp

say here nova sr 1.3 10.5 70bhp
later 1.4 sr is 72 10.1
sri is 82 and 10.2
this is from different copies mind, 10.1 is from 'fast lane' magazine which went out of print years ago
2.0 gsi 4x4 and 2.0l 4x4 are two different cars, one is 16v one uses 8v sri engine

astra and cav 2.0 8v engines are the same engine - dont think they gunna make a diff engine with diff bhp for each car do ya
the gsi 4x4 is the 16v unit with 150 bhp

Yeah, but there were 2 4x4's thats all, the model called 4x4 2.0 with basically L spec trim and the GSi 4x4 which had the 16v engine, the 4x4 2.0 had the sri 130 bhp 8v engine.
The astra 2.0 gte (the first 2.0) has 122 and the cav sri 130, reason being the ecu was different to suit gearing and the exhaust systems are different resulting in different bhp.

Neither did I! Were u on drugs at the time? 
Astra had lower bhp than Sri 130 cavvy cos of exhuast restrictions, ur right they did have different systems. It's just a shame the Astra one was shite!

so say i was looking for an 8 valve 2.0, which car wud i be looking for ?

Only the Cavalier had the 130 engine in transverse. SRi 130 and the later Sri
The 2.0 Astra GTE, was 122 bhp
Cav normal 2.0's had 115
Look for a low mileages SRI Cav G-K reg.
