Does anybody still market these? Got offered one from a mate but he wanted £300 to build it, you could buy a Cavvy with no mot for that & build it yourself. Any clues?

Try PVD - http://www.pvdnet.co.uk

or Courtenay Sport - http://www.courtenaysport.co.uk/

they do rear disk kits for around £250 - £300 i think...

These will have uprated vented disks, pads and braided lines...

make sure you upgrade your front brakes first or you will end up going ass over tit in circles as the rear braking will be far to strong...

Already got ATE calipers off an Astra GTE 16v & 256x24mm discs up front, stopping power is good! But the pads are shite & feel like their made of cork! I know u've got to weld on the disk hub carrier & re-tap the holes to take the different stub bolt, does anybody know if they both use the same banjo's on the rear?

I think PVD have just started (or are about to start) to sell a new kit.
This kit is a weld on kit not bolt on & i aint got a clue how much money it is.

Every other corsa is gonna have rear disk's soon.

You could always go for the M-Tech kit

I'll get it on the car one day

It's a new bolt on kit, it's also £400!

http://www.pvdnet.co.uk/brakes/pvd.asp

Must drive funny w/o rear axle! Good idea though, you can always chib it if you break it, different story if ur car's in bits!

A rear disk conversion aint going to do anything to help the stopping of your car. The rear brakes do so little of the cars breaking.

They are purely for looks.

And yes, the unions are the same. i bought nova braided lines and they fitted my disk beam.

Colin has the complete rear beam. It's an expensive setup to go for as it includes a whole new beam.

M Tech now supply us with a new kit - it does involve some welding but comes with full instructions. This enables Astra GTE rear hubs to bolt straight on. This new kit is £100 inc VAT, and is in stock.

Calibra hubs will not fit as they had independent rear suspension, and have different fitments. Astra or Cav parts will be required.

The fronts will be fine.

For the rears, you need to change the backing plates - these are included in our kit. Calibra rear hubs aren't correct for a Corsa though - you need hubs from a beamed car - ie not a Cav GSi or 4x4 or any Calibra.

You need to fit the hubs from the GTE, but they won't bolt onto the Corsa beam. That's what the conversion kit is for, to convert the beam to take Astra hubs.
