hi there i have a 04 plate corsa 1.2 16v and over the last couple of days the orange maintainance light has come on but not flashing i am just wondering what could be causing that light to come on when that light comes on i lose some power in the car plus the light comes on and off thank you look forward to someone helping me out

I get this on my 96 corsa b mines the egr valve might be same with urs??

Could be loads of stuff, needs the fault codes reading out.

whats the situation when the light comes on? accelerating? sat in traffic? etc.. fault codes is a good start but dont trust fault codes alone. mine threw up lambda when it was actually MAF..

used to happen on my 1.2 16v B until i changed the spark plugs and it stopped, god knows how/why
there a how to thread in tutorials section on doing a paper clip test, mite be worth a try

You can buy the gear yourself or if you say where you are a local member might help, otherwise it's £20-30 at a garage usually....or get the paperclips out lol

Try this:
Ignition off
foot flat on accelerator
other foot hard on the brake
keep both pedals pressed
turn ignition to no2 (DO NOT START ENGINE)
the warning light should flash a code out or display the fault code on the mileage display.

on the corsa c yes, and the vauxhall d range etc yeah. I did it last week on a mates and it read the code out on his mileage display. I have a scanner though so don't normally do it unless im without it.

It's an 04, you can't do the paper clip test.
You can however, flash the codes out by following my post above.

THE LIGHT COMES ON ONCE AV STARTED ENGINE AND STAYS ON THEN A LOSE POWER BUT ONCE A TURN THE ENGINE OFF AND CLICK UP EACH IGNITION A LEAVE IT A FEW SECOND THEN START ENGINE THEN AFTER FEW SECONDS THE LIGHT GOES OUT BUT SOMETIME IT STAYS ON
