First time this has happened, and by coincidence it was -2.5c outside. The handbrake left on last night, go to it this morning, the lever goes to the bottom but it has no resistance and the handbrake is still stuck on to the back wheels? I let it warm up, revved it at 2k for about 5 minutes, much to the enjoyment of the neighbours ( ) and it was fine, back to normal.

Frost to blame?

Would most likely just be the shoes stuck to the drums with the cold I think...

The wipers jammed on my mate astra g for no reason on a wet day, not heard much else go wrong. Might be worth getting the drums looked at if it happens again incase there is something worng with them. My old tigra ones ripped them selves apart due to one thing breaking inside

Ive not got a clue, although I know not to spray lubricant on the brake disc hehe Dont suppose anyone has / could get a pic of where I need to spray could they? I tried looking underneath while the missus was working it yesterday and couldnt se any moving parts

edit - its not a major problem, we just leave it in gear now instead of leaving it in gear with the handbrake on, its no biggie

Mine has been down to -10*c with no problems.

Take the wheel off and then you'll be able to see the arm that moves at the back of the caliper.

Just give it some revs and let the clutch out and it'll free it.

It wouldn't of been the exhaust that heated de-frosted it

Would of just un-seized itself I think, how hard do you put the handbrake on? Are you a body builder or something?

Just leave it in gear overnight if it's cold next time, I never use the handbrake
