Butler, go to network settings on your ps3, choose wireless connection and then do a scan for a connection and if it does not find anything then either there is no connection or the signal strenth is weak.
If you have a router you may need to open a port for the ps3 to work fully online, UDP: port 3658, are many different ports you can try but thats the reckonmended one from thee Playstation people.
When I fisrt connected without opening the port I was disconnected from online games, connection problems in game and could not hear voices from mics, was just a fuzzy noise.
It is said that the wireless technology in the ps3 is quite cheap, the signal strenth will say 100% when infact you have alot less %, wired is the future
