Ok, so quite a lot of race cars are 5 door, is this because of:
a)cheaper shell
b)cheaper repair bills when the rear side is hit?

no idea? longer wheel base?

manufacturer wanting to show off the 5 door model in the race series? as that's what they're trying to target for sales?

I'd guess if you're talking saloon wise it'd be cheaper shell, 4dr saloon would generally cost less than a 2dr saloon

the reason is because most race series stem from some form of saloon racing in some form or another

theres no reason for costs, its because what the rules state

That's it, it's all to do with the rules, in the old BTCC, the rules stated the cars must have 2 doors each side, and be of a certain length, there'll be a regulation to similar effect now.

It's a saloon car championship. 4door = saloon
