That's it, it's all to do with the rules, in the old BTCC, the rules stated the cars must have 2 doors each side, and be of a certain length, there'll be a regulation to similar effect now. | |

the reason is because most race series stem from some form of saloon racing in some form or another | |

I'd guess if you're talking saloon wise it'd be cheaper shell, 4dr saloon would generally cost less than a 2dr saloon | |
