I got a problem with my x16xe when I going round with normal speed, temp just goes up too high but not on red zone and when i just go round a bit faster temp does not rise too much what could be ??? water pump, thermostat, head gasket also when it gets hot I feel the car loose a bit of power !!

Sticky thermostat most likely. Try that first.

Have you checked for mayo in the header tank? Check in the cam cover for mayo too.

Is it using any water?

my temp goes up on mine too if im stuck in traffic for a while it rises to about 98c then goes down again.... does it not lower at all?

yeah in traffic it goes up but as the fans kicks in the temp go to 90c

never saw mayo on oil cap need to check header tank !!

from header tank it seems ok a bit of igh compression when you open the tap after a good trip

i had this problem on my x14xe, just flushed all the water pipes through and seems to be fine at the moment.

While you've got it apart, change the stat aswell. There only a few quid, easy fix.

just flush water down the water tank and down through each of the pipes aswell, thats what i did anyway, didnt put any chemicals in it, try that first as its an easy and quick job and see what happens
