So then me and my wise thinking thought a 1.2 8v would be good on fuel, is it, is it hell, a tenners worth of fuel got me 66 mile and ran out, bone dry!!!

Is this right? Ive got 15's dropped 40mm std airbox with the inner tubes gone and some sort of backbox, a really quiet backbox at that!

I couldnt believe it, im getting 140 mile to a tenner on my bike and thats bouncing the limiter in every gear, thought the car would of been better?

Please tell me theres a problem and a solution on how to fix it! lol

Cheers

Bikes do get more MPG coz they weigh a lot less.

I get 70 Miles for £10.

I bet that you coast everywhere.

Being a 1.2, you usually floor it without noticing, to accelerate...
Which is what reduces mpg a lot.
66mile aint bad, about 30mpg id guess that is.

I get a lot more mpg from a 1.6 16v than both my old 1.2s and 1.4 8v's.

its a 8v for a start so that wont help!

those figures do seem poor though. i get 420miles from a full tank (~£38-42 nowadays) and im in a 12v!! so if a 1.2 drivers needs to rev everywhere i'm doing very well!

I get around 360 to the tank in a 1.2 16v. Works out to be 40 - 45mpg. A mix of town and motorway driving. Tends to get revved everywhere, but not really thrashed.

I would expect a 1.2 8v to be similar on fuel.
