Someone who used to own the nova before me has put the fan on a constant live.......

How he hell do i get it back to normally where it just clicks on with the thermostat? As its taking ages to warm up on a morning and in the winter i dont want the engine naffinf up due to being too cold.

The brown and black wire's going to the fan have been cut and put back together, but its still brown attached to brown and black to black.......so.........hmmm?

ideas?

On the side of the radiator, see if someones removed the plug from the thermoswitch, and bridged the wires together.

having the fan on wont affect how quickly it warms up in the mornings, the thermostat controls that.

well i would of thought the fan being on constant would stop the coolant heating up and in turn slowing the engines warm up?

Fans never needed anyway, unless you got stuck in heavy traffic.
It is worth leaving the engine going after a drive tho letting the temperature build up and making sure the switch does work.

Should be around half way on a nova gauge when the fan comes on.

a thermostat doesnt 'kick' in, it opens and allows coolant to the rad. a c20xe needs to be running between 92 and 98 degrees for best performance so a standard thermostat and fan switch will be fine.
