Ive taken my dashboard out and i want to smooth it and spray it, ive also got a 6.5 inch sony widescreen tv to fit to the dash, i need to fibreglass the gaps.

Any advice on what process to take to get this prepared for spraying.
I.e. What grade sand papers to use and in what order to get a smooth finish on the dash instead of the grain affect, will i have to use filler primer?

Thanks

you'll be sanding that for most of summer lmao, a fairly course sandpaper and electric sander would be a good idea to start with, then move to smoother grades as the plastic grainy pattern stuff starts nearing the depth of the rest of the dash

or using filler prima for a couple of days, but more likely to crack if you layer it up too much me thinks

You don't actually want to do that. Leave the mottling and just go over it with plastic primer and then pour on the high build primer. Though it will need to be baked off as it will sink when it dries and you want to accelerate that as much as possible so you can get on and paint it...

Finch.... it is not an easy job by any means.

Use some coarse scotch to get a good key in the plastic.... then use plastic primer and then use filler primer as Ed says.

Do NOT do the filler primer too thick as it will sink or peel. Make sure it is allowed to fully dry between coats or it will be like sludge (talking from experience).

To be honest I have found that using a material is a better method than spraying. At least you wont scream in anger because you wont be able to scratch it if its fabric!

If you use 2k paint then you shouldn't have the sludge issue. I know what you mean though, I have had that problem with spray can paint before, it's bloody annoying
