Is it easy to fit a de cat pipe or would i need to get a garage or someone else to do it for me, remember i hardly know anythin about cars lol

if you know nothing get a garage to do it.
it is easy to do but could become tricky if you come across seized bolts etc

how much would it cost in a garage, and would a garage do it as they are illegal??

yeh a garage would do it. depends if they had to take the whole of the exhaudt off to get into the cat or not to how much it may cost

well it would be on a 1.4 16v if that helps, do you know any websites that sell de cats

also was wondering if it wuld increase performance and if so by how much BHP. also how does it affect fuel consumption

yes it would increase performance. not sure how much tho. i didnt notice any higher fuel consumption on my old car but i think it does make it use a little more fuel

mmmm... not too sure on this one, i think it makes it louder but not 100%

no it wont be a lot louder. to make it a lot louder you'd have to remove the centre box

ive got a 1.6 sport and just had my cat emptied so basicaly a de-cat. it makes the car sound alot more raspier, personally i thought it sounded better before.

ive noticed a slight increase in performance but not much at all, just drives easier and the exhaust just feels less bunged up. its prob only worth it if you've got other fairly extensive performance mods in my opinion.
