easy to wire up? or does it lack alot of things for functionality?

need to wire in the ecu for the airbag if you want it to work the horns easy

I wouldn't want to do it, the whole loom behind the dash would need to come out and be replaced, and you really don't want it randomly going off in your face.

good point, so rather than go for a bagged wheel, I should just get a GM 3 spoke?

If you want to replace the steering wheel with an OE spec one, GSi one is leather and thicker.
