the trouble with ps3's at the moment is they arent selling very well, this doesnt really hold much promise for developers to make decent exclusives for it

you have to pay for 360 online, but i would say its better at the moment so i dont mind paying

hardly decent. it connects you to a american xbox with a shit cable connection. at least ps3 gives you the option of uk servers only. less lag, if any lag at all. i get kicked out of almost everygame i play on the xbox

rus, xbox live has its own regional servers, you connect to a UK server hence why the forza demo came out at slightly different times and why the amercans get different interface

when you connect to xbox live you connect to your regional server, when playing online against someone you connect to other servers all over the world, its just basic TCP IP same as browsing the net, but no you cant filter out net connectivity for certain zones, although the infrastructure is there to do so, just no games have made use of it in this way yet
