My indicators are being a bit tempermental one minute they work fine then next when selected the indicator light on the dash stays illuminated making a weird buzzing noise and when this happens the indicators are not working at all any advice to whats causing this - all indicators bulbs are working

Go to a scrappy and find a new indicator stalk.

even though the stalk cancells correctly and full beam works?

Yeah, it's 90% going to be a problem with one of the connections in it.

cheers for the replies, one more thing as I'm crap with cars and checking oil is mainly what I can do is the stalk easy to remove and then refit?

yes. remove the shroud around the ignition (3 phillips screws under the shroud) and then you can press the clips that hold the stalk on, slide it out and then unplug and replace

Bloody indicators TTT please - as Fro sent me a stalk which worked perfectly then sent him a u2u then went back out to retest them and after a couple of mins it started doing what I had the problem with in the first place - so had new stalk which works any other idea which is causing this please?

What about the actual connectors on the end of the car loom?

Try the relay in the fuse box.
