how can i tell if my engine has the cocast head on it?and what are the differences?

The coscast one has coscast stamped on it too, but you can't see it too easily.

what are the differences apart from the core plug?

Doesn't go porous like gm ones.

Yes they do, they are less prone to doing so though.

True, but i've hardly ever seen a porous coscast head.

The Gm ones are easy to fix anyway.

The early coscast heads also had straighter inlet ports meaning less restriction on intake.
