1. fill in a cherished transfer form available from dvla offices
2. £80
3. i think if you go to the dvla office rather than by post its done there and then
4. they repring mot and tax discs. You would need to inform your insurer of new reg
5. go to nearest dvla office

private plates are a pain in the backside if u ask me i had 1 it cost around £80 to transfer from car to car or about £130 on to a ticket but u will need to take the dona car to a dvla licence office they inspect it making sure all the vin's match up and make sure the plate is legal as they wont do it if it aint i.e. right letter size and right size gaps inbetween letters they tack it off his log book and put it on yours and they issue u both with new tax disks with new reg no. on then u have to change your insurance and i got told it was classed as a mod so u may have to pay more on insurance.
be warned though if the car with the private plate gets crashed or taken off the road u still have to take it to the dvla for an inspection befor the mot runs out and on a trailor trust me i lost £800 of plate cos some1 smashed into me 2 weeks befor the mot ran out now its stuck on the car till i get an mot on it and theres no chance as i had to get cut out of it lol
sorry about the essay
