been putting off replacing the bulbs that have gone in my speedo and temp guage for a while now but i dedided to give it a go today.
Went to pull the dials out but found i couldnt, so i assume i need to disconnect the over end of the speedo cable from the gear box.

But where the hell is it i cannot find it anywhere

Also where is the best place to acsess it from, as im struggling as for some reason the battery tray etc in this corsa are all been welded in and cannot be removed like in my old one

I got some pics while i was out there today

What else should i remove to improve acsess?

I shoved my camera down the hole in the battery tray and took some pics. Found this on the top of the gear box behind the selector arm. Is this it? Im assuming so as its the only thing there other then the reverse light switch

(the hexagonal thing with the wire/cable coming out of it)

If that is it how the hell do i get to it and how is it removed

I may just give up as i spent 3 hours on this and have got no where

please help me

Only time i have ever seen my speedo cable is from under the car. I dont think you will get at it from looking under the bonnet.

Put car up on ramp, get under it and its just visable on the n/s. You can see it going into the top of the transmission bellhousing where the gear driven thinggy is.

Had the same problem, there is a clip on the back of the cable behind the guage where th cable attaches, just reach hand behind and press together whilst releasing the cable

alot of the cables are two peice and should be able to split it under the inlet manifold. had to do this yesterday, by far the stupidiest design on a corsa. why didnt they just make it an inch longer!!?
