last night my car got broken into, they smashed the rear passenger side window (it's a 3 - door, so it's a fixed window),

does anyone know whether i'd be able to replace it myself, or whether i'd have to get a professional. i've got quotes for around £100 which seems a bit high in comparison to just having to buy the screen from the scrapyard.

cheers,
tim

It should'nt effect your premium it depends how you claim for it, i would double check though as its always insurance dependant with things like this. ring them dont give any details and find out.

EDIT - Mixed up words

had same problem. had it done but watched them, remove all glass etc. remove outer black rubber, insert new window with a window glue stuff. try halfords? stick window in, and push in, reapply rubber and leave to set for 24 hours, you can drive it, but dont go over bumps/potholes at speed as it will pop out, etc. hope this helps

It shouldn't affect your no claims, check if your policy covers it then ring the window/windscreen company and they should should do it for £50 and take your policy details.
