Right, we have a wireless network in our flat with a Netgear WGR614 router using an NTL cable modem.
I have a desktop and a laptop, the laptop has a built in wireless card that came with it 3 and a half years ago.
The desktop has a Netgear WG311T 802.11G wireless card that I bought last year.
When the two are next to each other, the laptop gets full signal and the desktop gets very low signal and often loses signal completely.
Both router and wireless card have the latest firmware.
Any ideas?
I've tried changing the wireless channels etc, nothing seems to work.

Laptop has a much bigger antenna (sp) i think it goes all around the screen on most.

Desktop card might be faulty or need new drivers.
Is the speed set up to auto-negotiate or are you forcing the fastest speed? Normally the cards will run better at a slower speed unless you tell them that they can't.

My PCI card needed new drivers when I had this, also brought an external antanae which has helped a lot!
