can anyone help how the hell do you crack the awkrard nut at the top of the shcoker off? i have done it on a broken set to get the springs off but on my standard ones it wont shift been using blowtorch and allsorts can anyone help?

I had this problem with an old set of shocks. Out came the angle grinder.
But obviously you dont want to do that. If a blowtorch wont work try some sort of penetrating oil, keep soaking it, might help a bit.
Failing that i supose you could cut a slot down the nut so it can be prised open off the thread. Then just gotta get some more nuts.

not taking the piss, but are you using the right tools? on my struts, I had to use two different spanners at the same time to take the top nut off.

You need a drop neck spanner 17mm I think and a smaller spanner possibly 8mm to hold the middle spindle at the top of the strut, don't quote me on the sizes though.

i was using a drop neck spanner and a 6mm socket

Air gun. They work wonders.
If your still struggling, take the struts off and then take them to a garage.

Must be super stuck then. Always been able to undo those nuts with an Air gun. Even on my mates 15 year old Nova shockers.

the best way to take it off is with the strut stll attached to the car akes life a lot easier!! uder the impression it was a 18mm with swan neck, cant remeber though
