when downloading via torrents, the status is always yellow, but i have windows and norton firewall turned off. any ideas why?

im running a brand new laptop with xp.

wat software u using? im using utorrent now, its ok like

make sure u open ure ports on opendns.org and also have the ports open on ure router portforwarding.com

using bittornado on 2 pcs. one downstairs is downloading sugababes at 145kbsec im downloadin same file at 15k sec, downstairs the status is green,up here its yellow.

what is all the port things about?

mine did this,,,

120+ downstairs
and 10ish kb upstairs on my new pc,,,

so i switched to azureus and its back up high ish, between 50-120 but its not very consistent!

only on a 1mb connection so im not expecting silly speeds...

120 about right for 1mb?

OH.. and what I meant by mine WAS.....
usig same modem on both pc's

just plugged in the phone line upstairs or downstairs at seperate time on differant pc's

if your using a router, then open up ports (port forwarding) on the router for each bittorrent client.

Personally i would switch over to uTorrent, it's smaller and only requires one port to be open (easier to set up on the port forwards).

Eitherway, have a look on www.portforward.com for any help on setting up ports on a router
