Im, using bit torrent 5.8.6 and there setting for the speed at the bottem. Whta shall I set it to? Cause it uploading very fast but not downloading fast at all. Why is this?  And the little coloured light in the corner is always yellow. I've turned my fire wall of but still wont go green!!!

Probly downloadin slow cos ya downloadin with other people etc aint sure cos i dont use the sort of BiTorrent u have use the i just click on a torrent file and let it download dont have any of this stuff in the corner ???

click isdn/dial up setting from drop down. then put hte upload up2 8 and hte other option to 2. the download rate is proportional to the amount of people online, less people, slower d/l

You may find that you started your download before other people, so they are taking what you have as it's new and you are then looking for other parts. 
 
I generally get a good d/l speed of 20-30kb/s on all downloads, on good ones I get around 60kb/s.

I got told that isdn trick... 
 
I'm on ADSL, but just set it to ISDN/Dialup and set the upload to max... 
 
Then it'll only ever upload at a max of 8/9ks - but usually gets up to about 56k/s providing enough bandwidth is available... 
 
I think it works coz 9k/s upload for a dial up is pretty generous so it ups your rating and thus you end up getting more people available to download from.

i normally d/l at about 60kbs with an upload of 8kbs with that setting. i jus leave my pc on overnight, go to college, and by the time im back i got some new software! all good!
