the problem iv got is the n/s caliper is not just pulling in square (like it should) but is also pulling at an angle as if the rubber bush that the bolts sit in are worn (which they were) which is giving a slightly spougy pedal
have replaced rubber bushes, (bolts look okay) and still have the same problem, you can phyicaly see the caliper 'flexing' when the pesal is pumped, but the o/s doesn't do this at all
Also fitted brand new pads, so it can't be the old ones runnig at an angle
HELP!

The shafts which the caliper slides on might not be straight. It's either the shafts or the bushes, if the bushes have been replaced on the slider then replace the shafts on the caliper blacket. If you still have the problem junk the caliper and buy another. They are cheap as second hand...

might try replacing the bolts first, but they looked fine

most probably the bracket where the thread is not sitting square
