As my other thread states i have a really bad rattle coming form the top of my engine when its under load, when it done this in my nova (which was carb) you could get rid of the noise by retarding the timing slightly, how can i do this on my Sri engine?

Cant adjust timing on those, it hasnt got a traditional distributor it uses a single coil, timing is controlled by the ECU

Does it sound like a cam/tappet tapping?

Over advanced ign timing causing pinking is more of a light pinging sound.
