i can push my accelerator down about an inch/just under until it actually does anything.
can i easily adjust this because im worried it could be affecting me cars performance, or are most corsa's like this? (never really driven any others tbh)
think its slowing me down? cos if it is im norrappy!

You need to adjust the accelerator cable.

You can see where the cable is pointed by the arrow on the left, just to the right of that there is a little clip on the plastic casing around the cable. Take the clip off, pull the cable through a bit so it takes the slack out, then replace the clip.

Probably not, but it will mean you can set off a bit better as you won't have to take the slack out first.

both my Corsa's had this problem.
it drove me mad, i could sit at the traffic lights "revvin" doing nothing as i was moving the inch!
i fixed it by placing a plastic plate underneath the "stop" causing a false wall the thickness of the movement.
works a treat

You have to move the clip along to keep it in place, you can't just put it back where you took it off.
