i always thought it as low pressure only not high

if it was high i thought there would be a valve or somthing to release it, "im grasping at straws"

get a aftermaket gauge on there so you can see what the pressure really is.

The wiring might be duff to to OE sender etc

i have a gauge to fit but i broke the attachment last night so i will have to wait and order another one

in 5 mins if oil pressure was low, it would tap its knackers off and knock its tappers off, and it wasnt. was just like an engine runing

i think it'll just be a faulty sender/wiring then

if its not burning it, not leaking it then im sure its probably a wiring issue, the pressure will obviously only be low if oil is escaping in some way so u shud be ok mate.

or if the release valve was sticking, but i doubt it is as its a new one.

previous to this, the car hadnt been thrashed, hadnt gone over 5000 rpm, hadnt even had more than half throttle appiled. the engine wont have been under any stress. this is why its annoying me more id say.

ive taken the low pressure warning switch off. it appears to opperate via a small ball bearing in the end, which will be forced back onto a switch of some kind????? this wasnt free moving and was kinda sticking in the end furthest from the switch it need to activate if you get me. i gave it a few stabs with a little screw driver and now it seems to move like i guess it should

will re-fit and see what happens later tonight. got job application forms to fill in today

i agree lee, its just being paranoid in some ways, better to be like this than not to be. 5 mins of running time, it wouldnt run and be nice and quiet at all, from the experienc i have anyway. im really hoping its going to be fine, and just be the sender. my usual luck means it wont be though..................

updatey time

have removed the sender from the oil pump for the dash light. have cleaned it and looked at it and re-fitted it back into the car. have connected the plug back on, started the car and light remains on. now, it isnt massively tappety or knocking. however a touch tappety perhaps as its been sitting for 2 weeks while ive been playing about with this sender.

im worried to say the least. need to get a gauge on it, but i broke the fooken adapter thing for ther gauge so will order a new one then wait and see

its not looking good
