Got a bit of a problem

I've took off my 17s and swapped them with Speedlines today. All was fine got them on without problem, torqued all nuts up to 110nm, checked over then went to drive home. Car wouldn't move... thought I’d left the handbrake on but hadn't, blipped the throttle and reversed slightly along with a loud squeaking noise coming from the front wheels.

Had to leave it on my Granddads driveway and walk home as was too dark for working now.

I used the McGuard nuts which came with my 17s which are ET45 - had no problems with them on, all I can think of is they are too long for Speedlines.

Any suggestions before I call out the AA tomorrow and explain to them that it's 'suddenly’ broke down?

if its squeaking its probably catching the tyres, when i fitted mine the tyres caught the suspension so i had to fit 3mm spacers, that should do the trick mate, also when you have the wheel off the ground spin it round and make sure it isnt catching on anything

cheers for the quick replies

does sound like catching. will try standard bolts tomorrow then if that doesn't work spacers.

Are you using standard wheel bolts? Did you not spin the wheels to make sure they are'nt catching on the suspension strut/caliper or something?

deffo sounds like it's catching!

i thought they would only catch on SRI's due to them having bigger discs and calipers but obviously not.

if its a C would they be the wrong offset (et49) and therefore be sitting too far in. Spacers and longer bolts will be the way forwards if it is

always check a wheel rotates freely before trying to drive after doing any work on suspension, brakes or wheels etc...

find whats catching first, might be the tyre on the strut or wheels on the calliper.

was the front calipers catching, loads of space between strut and tyre.

caliper looked to be on by around 10mm surely that can't be right?
