HI im new i got a corsa vegas with a atra gte 2.0litre 16v in it and the rev counter goes mental but it reads the revs if i rev the car or drive it but if left alone i.e on idle it jumps all over the place. any ideas people?

If the engines not actually reving etc, check the earth wire on the dash i had a problem like this when i had an astra, but only used to do it when i had my music quite loud.

link a wire directly from the earth on the dispack/coil to your green wire on the back of the clocks.
see if that solves the problem.

Thanks for the replys people, the car isnt revving its just the clocks.
Dave A what do you mean buy link a wire from earth on coil to green wire? can i not link the earth from the coil to the green wire in the engine bay, there is a plug next to coil with a solid green wire?

try that if youy like but the idea of running a new wire is that the one that is already in the loom could be faulty.

how many earths are there in the car? cos it might be a earth problem.
