Maybe...depens what Ratios/final drive/wheel+tyre sizes you are using.

is his exactly the same? I think there are two variations of the f20 gearbox iirc

Its against the law to go above 70 so no problem really. Just a bit less MPG

of no relevance but my s14a rev at about 3k rpm at 70-75ish.... dab the loud pedal there and all hell breaks loose

i'm sure lee mitchell said to me when i left his hous ein the corsa for the 1st time, he siad, 70mph is about 3-3.5k in 5th.

On motorway runs sitting at a steady 85ish I get just under 25mpg poor car's screaming it's head off

I dread to think what the original 1.2 8v's were like on the motorway, they only had 4 gears, sitting at motorway speeds doing 85ish it would be sitting next to the redline lol

First, lets get the thing out the way that 'motorway speed' isnt 85. Motorway speed is 70.

Second, the reaosn you get 25 mpg at 85 is because your foot is probabaly almost to the floor in a 1.2 which kills your mpg. My 1.4 8v averages 43mpg+ at a steady 70.

And lastly. A 4 speed corsa would be doing 3,700 rpm at 70 and 4,500 rpm at 85.
