1.4 experts needed

in every gear if i put my foot down nothing happens for a while in every gear 1,2,3,4,5 there are flat spots till it gets to about 4k plus revs
any1 got any ideas ?

4k is when the 8v is starting to run out of steam...

Anyway could be something silly like spark plugs, when was it last serviced?

single point injection, and had service less than 150miles ago , but it was doing it before the service

anyone know whats up ?

I dont notice much drop off in power in my 8v past 4K. Maybe it starts dropping a tiny bit past 5,500rpm but honestly i dont notice much drop off in 1st 2nd or 3rd.

As for flat spots...could be the air fliter, but if its been service that would have been changed. Is it running smooth and just lacking power?

got a k&n induction kit, yeah its running fine just lacking lots of power

I take it the EM light isnt on either? Know if the fuel filter was changed in the service?

no em light is not on mate, no the fuel filter was not done in the service, would that be the problem ?

. Was having a look in the haynes manual at causes of lack of power and it seems to say some fuel problems can cause it, such as fuel filter or the fuel pump. Theres alot under that one though. Some it wont be if its been serviced. Fuel filter could be the cheapest to try, honestly i dont know what it is myself.
