mate got his boot welded, fitted a boot kit.

problem is the boot doesent pop open as it is to heavy, if you know what i mean

is tthere some sort of sprung loaded pin you have to buy to lift it when the boot button is pressed.

the bodyshop that did mine got a boot poper from ford as the are stronger and built better than the ones you get off ebay etc, mine opens very easy

the lock opens, but the boot doesent lift up out of the lock coz of the weight, so i need some sort of popper to push it up, like in photo im guessing

they pop the boot but don't open it

Even on Beemers it doesn't actually make it lift open. Just unlocks and pops it slightly.

correct, due to the weight of some boot lids the pins are needed

i got my boot popper from ebay and it pops the boot open perfectly

do you use all the xr2 mechanism? im having a similar issue at the mo (not fitted but not sure how to do it)

don't use xr2 mechanism buy a boot release kit if the boot doesn't open enought then buy an stainless steel pin
