i bought a new c v joint from ebay. not a genuine vx one...it looks different but still fits the same, are the aftermarket ones meant to look diff ??

both my cv joints look different to the vaux ones and fit perfectly, i wouldnt worry about it if i were u.

The designs will have changed ever so slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer. So long as it fits and is dimensionally correct then there is no issue. Lots of stuff like that is different. I have had several alternators for the same engine each of them different, but they all fitted.
