whats a safe rpm to rev to on standard internals? just the standard or is higher safe?

Is there a reason you want a higher rev limit? unless your engine is suitably specced ie cams/TB`s etc you wont get anymore power.

If it's standard then the standard limiter is it really or else they would have made it higher.

A safe rev limit on an F1 engine is about 20k rpm.

i have a raised limit on my 1600 16v sport and its standard. sounds amazing at 7k with a k&n, very rarely go that far though.

yup, hit limit couple times, goes to 7.2 or 7.4 but scared of it going bang that high

its an X16XE in a nova.
safe rev limit on standard internals is about 8.5k (in short bursts), if you've got ARP rod bolts
Broster revs to 8650, with a standard (but balanced) bottom end.

c16xe, was just a general question really but i understand there is not much point on standard engines because there is little or no benefit. but thought ide find out.

rev limit depends on where its making max power. pointless having a 8000 rpm limit whaen its producing max power at 6500 rpm.
for the sake of 80 quid fit arp's if going over 7000 rpm. sbd rollers are a good idea as well.
