Author engine keeps cutting out.....?

my speedo has stoped working and then the engine keeps cutting out when i slow down to stop. ne1 got any ideas as to what it could be? this all started after i pushed the cigarette lighter in, this might not have anything to do with it but it mite be linked? any help would be appreciated! thanks!

I'd check all the fuses

If your speedo is not working thats why it stops when you slow down, mine is doing this too, if its electrical check a fuse if its mechanical check your speedo cable has not snapped

VSS vehical speed sensor needs a signal from your speedo, thats fcuked or your speedo cable is

how much do you reckon to repair if it needs a sensor?

Ive had this problem, sounds like the its cuttin out, due to the speedo cable, there about £15, and are not that hard to change.
