Ive had this problem, sounds like the its cuttin out, due to the speedo cable, there about £15, and are not that hard to change.

how much do you reckon to repair if it needs a sensor?

VSS vehical speed sensor needs a signal from your speedo, thats fcuked or your speedo cable is :)

If your speedo is not working thats why it stops when you slow down, mine is doing this too, if its electrical check a fuse if its mechanical check your speedo cable has not snapped :thumbs:

my speedo has stoped working and then the engine keeps cutting out when i slow down to stop. ne1 got any ideas as to what it could be? this all started after i pushed the cigarette lighter in, this might not have anything to do with it but it mite be linked? any help would be appreciated! thanks!
