only for the last couple of days, when my car is cold and i start it up, it dont like ticking over!! i have to rev the car for a few seconds for the choke to kick in, or otherwise it either a) dies or b) coughs and farts for a few seconds, then returns to normal?!

what could the problem be, and is it easily fixed?

Probably the ICV or another sensor

to be perfectly honest, i dont have the foggeyest what the ICV or EML are!!

also, there is no choke on a 1.4 16v

as long as the car runs and idles ok when started, nothing to worry about.

yeh mine was the same, either check its still connected (icv), mine kept fallin out or maybe source another to see if its faulty.

u2u muppetsport, he had the same problem and got it sorted out quite cheaply.
