you need a cambelt kit, with tensioners, not just a cambelt

alternator belt and tensioners, the v belt type, not the wide pully ones

conversion kit, obviously

and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if its not included in the kit

yer meant cambelt kit, forgat bout the alternator belt, fuel pressure thingy will be easiy to get

conversion kit already sitting in garage

hmmmmmm lots of cash, still considering a small block xe but lookin at bout 180 bhp instead of 235+ bhp

theirs other little things you gotta consider in the conversion, like wot to do with the oil cooler pipes. Also you need to replace a lot of bolts, crank pulley bolt, cam pulley bolts, others i can't remember. It tells you in the haynes manual

be carful mate.
235 kit plus head work your looking around 250bhp from a XE, i think you need to read things alittle bit more.
No good for you, as it will need rebuilding quite often (5000miles) so no good as a everyday car, Plus if you can not rebuild the engine yourself, just think of the cost....

PLUS
you going to need a good clutch.

with over 250 your going to need a high reving engine, so steel rods, dry sump etc and if you go that next step rebuild ever 2500miles.

220-230bhp is the Very MAX for everyday use and not having to rebuild the engine all the time.

beardy, a 250bhp engine wont need a rebuild every 5k. depends how its driven if its an everyday car id say he wont be up at 7.5k all day long like if it was a track car, i know im not! but yes 220 will be plenty in an everyday corsa!

think about it if it was just a case of that more powerful and has more torque........... therefore its better, who wont everyone pick that one engine...... for an everyday hack id say a c20xe but wouldnt tune it to 200+bhp, matt h's spec is pretty good.... look at that, the more you tune it the more itll cost to run and the most coslty itll be when stuff goes wrong
