none, but its not cat i know that for sure, deffo not clutch, were gonna go loads on saturday,

fuel filter, brand new plugs and leads, coil pack, fuel pressure regulater, compression test the head, few other things too but cant remember hope one of them fixes it

try it after each one to see what fixes the problem no point in changing it all then to not beable to pinpoint were the problem came from in the first place

I just posted in your thread in GC but I'll ask here as well, does your engine use a lot of oil?

If so, get a compression test done! Mine does, so I suspect it's either the valve stem oil seals or the piston rings...

I'd get a compression test done on mine but I CBA at the moment!

For the record when my cat was FUBAR'd they gutted the inside of it for me until I was able to afford a new one, with the gutted cat (basically same as decat really), I always used to smell petrol fumes, but no real difference in performance.

it does use alot of oil i thought that was common with 16v's tho as my GSi and astra sport were both the same

i do 600 miles a week and normally have to top it up a bit every saturday

put a additive in with the oil thats what i do its called lucas extra protect doesnt burn oil atall now

my x14xe has never used any oil. level never drops, change it every 5k, had headgasket done cos a tiny bit of coolant was getting in 4th pot, done 74k but before/after headgasket its still never burnt oil!
