For the money what else would you consider tho?

Personally for the insurance group it is, its harder to go quicker!! Anything else, such as clio's are all much higher insurance groups!

Had a little play with a nicely modded Saxo (probably VTS) and some sort of mk3 Escort 16v (bit chavved up). Saxo caught up on corners but wasn't up to much on the straights. The Escort was useless. Was in 3rd gear having a little play with him, then he drove off in a different direction after realising he was much slower Not had a really good play with anything yet. Fiesta RS Turbo has been my closest one to date. Was quite quick but I was just pulling away.

I pay about £470 FC, but i'm 25 with full NCD.

As someone has already said, when I was looking, there was nothing faster or as spec'ed up (Cruise control etc) for the same money & insurance group.

I enjoy driving it, and whilst its not incredibly quick, there aren't that many standard cars which can beat it off the lights.

to rival it, it only has 123bhp.....

I like them and at 0-60 in 8 secs and 123bhp it's not that shy, no way was it a rival for 172's etc...

And i would have the SRi over a lupo gti anyday, but thats just me...

I've got one and it's ok...not lightning quick but it's quick enough for me.

If you take every gear to the redline it seems to really shift from 4,000 rpm.

But as for it being a rival to the Clio 172/182...definitely not.

Ive got a 1.8 sri, only paid for 4k for it on a 03/52 plate. Did have a 106 gti, 106 felt much quicker, even though it isnt. For an insurance group 9 car i think its reasonably quick.I havent really put my foot down yet in it though, will wait for better conditions. Doddle to drive though and has cruise control, 106 felt more fun to drive and i would have the 106 back if i could imo. John
