going to wire up my sub and amp tomoro but i still need to figure out how i am going to secure the sub box in the boot. How have you all done yours?
The way forwards i was thinking was to use an L bracket and screw it to the floor. But whats under the floor around the spare wheel well? is it safe to drill through? and wheres the best place to get these brackets from?
also a few other ???
this came with my sub what is it? (the spirl padded sticker thing)

Is this about the right amount of wadding or does it need a bit more?

Also as far as i can see this is wired up correctly so what is the purpose of the middle two terminals that seem linked together?

Sorry for all the questions
Gavin

Hello m8 ill help you out.
( 1 ) CHECK out what i did here CLICK HERE

( 2 ) The spirl padded sticker thing gow's around the under side of the sub it helps make a seal around the sub. ( so it fits around the top under side )
( 3 ) I think you got the max amount of wadding i would take a bit out.
( 4 ) The clip is to bridge the terminals dont use this unles you wont to run in series :thumbs
( 5 ) What amp you got and what ohm is the sub ill tell you how to wire it up

ok cheers
Im gathering the spiral sticks around the base of the magnet then. Il fit that in a mo. the amp i am running is been used bridged and has a minimum inpendance of 4 ohms. the sub itself is 2ohm duel voice coil but is prewired as a 40hm sub. Im presuming this means that it gets wired up the way i have it with the plate connecting up the other voice coil into one or i may be wrong
so i need to wire it up as 4ohm so do i not need the plate in the middle of the two middle terminals? or is it forming part of the curcuit? (just single sub and amp BTW)

I used velcro strips from Halfords or most DIY places...never let me down and easy to take the sub box out without tools

I put mine i a holder type of thing, kinda like a harness then made a cover that screws down over it..........
Also, while it might sound wierd, i screwed the string/holder off a rape alarm to the sub box and attatched the siren to the false floor (at the rear so it cant be seen) that way if anyone nicks it, ie.e lifts it up without unattatching the wire, they will pull the pin out of the siren and they will shit their pants, with a result of them running off. Innovative, ghetto car security, ha ha
