Looking to get my refurbished in the near future due to damage caused by others. Explained in my post in General Chat.

Anyway. Whats involved in wheel refurbishing? Is it like spraying body panels on a car? Lots of rubbing down, then primer, more rubbing down, then colour, then laquer?

I dont want to do it myself but the reason for asking is I'm wondering what sort of finishes I could have done... would it be possible to have a small amount of metalflake put in with the laquer to make the wheels a bit shinier or is that going to look gay Or by having extra layers of laquer applied would it make them shinier?

Also quite like the idea of a similar finish to the Wolfrace wheels below...

How is that finish acheived?

This is what they are like now (pre damage ) if anyone fancies photoshopping anything then feel free

I dont want anything like chrome or anything too OTT but fancy giving them a little bit more of a kick to make them shinier

I like those alot! Any better pics of them?

Not sure how that would work on my wheels cos if you look at the pic below the lines on the alloy would mean that only the spokes got diamond cut and the black would come round onto the edge of the rim if you see what I mean?

Matty...

Ask dave about wheels...

He done his R5 GTT wheels in black with a bit of spectraflair thrown in the laquer come out well.

Sure there is a topic on the sbs site somewhere.

look good but I dont think I want all black wheels...

suppose he'd be able to do silver with the spectraflair in the laquer though! Another thing to add to the list

Yeh, hope he has some spectraflair laying around tho...

£550 a ltr

Wouldn't mind some spectraflair wheels, daves in the light look a million times better than the pics!

bloody hell. your right its not cheap just looked on the rage site.

What about a small amount of metal flakes? They are a bit cheaper I think, its just whether they look any good!

Would want it so on an average day like today they look silver then when the sun came out they were really shiney but at the same time without looking silly!
