Been doing this conversion on my corsa for ages now and i still cant get the bugger to start.
i've actually had it running before but a vacuum leak after the afm meant it had a really high idle. I've fixed that now after leaving the car a month or so but now nothing.
if i leave it a few days and come back to it and crank it it catches a few times but never actually starts. Further cranking does nothing and floods the engine
what will prevent the xe from running if it is fuelling and sparking.
i have an ecu light on when i turn on my ign meaning my switched live is connected up right and i'm fairly confident its a contionuous 12volt feed. i've tried wiring this to a permanent live but it still wont start.
if i crank the engine over the ecu light stays on for a few seconds then goes out even tho the engine isnt running is that correct?
when i crank i get fuel
the timing is correct and i get sparks
the leads are on the right way
i have compression
i have no fault codes stored
crank sensor is new
fuel pump relay is new
plugs are new from vaux
ecu has been swapped
afm has been swapped
dizzy has been swapped
coil has been swapped
engine has an earth strap to the chassis, two on the fuel rail and one on the alternator i think thats right?
what else could it be its doing my head in and is really frustrating!!
HELP!

do u have a decent battery?
as XE motors like to turn over fast before they will start!!!
what about towing the car and bump starting it???

mine also does this sometimes it will take 3 or 4 attempts to start, sometimes more, and sometimes will start first time. i have a spark from each plug, and fuel in each cylinder. its always done it. once its started it runs perfectly. really annoying.

its possible that it could be a crank or cam sensor as it will only store as a fault code unless it has had high/low voltage etc for more than 12-15 seconds??

sorted it today turns out i had some dodgy wiring coming from the coolant temp sensor hidden in the loom.
the wire was corroded and about to break so i'm guessing it was still sending a signal to the ecu, hence no fault code, only the signal must have been corrupt which was causing the engine to overfuel and flood itself.
apparantly pretty commen too but as always first i've heard about it so all the money i've spent on cranks sensors, coils, sparkplugs, afm etc etc was a waste of time and all i needed to do was reconnect a wire.. ooops
