Step dad has a S reg astra estate, the management light keeps coming on quite randomly, when it does the thing will barely accelerate, you can get it to 80 just about but it'll take forever to get there. And if you drop a gear at any speed and put foot down it'll not rev up either.
then the light will go off and it'll drive nicely as if nothing is wrong.
i think he's had it checked and its something to do with the EGR, is this right? he's taken it off and said it was well cacked up so he cleaned it but no change and he doesn't want to go spend £100+ if it isn't that. Can he blank it off like on the petrol engines, and will this show fault codes etc when done?
