does anyone know if the halo ring replaces the sidelights, or do they have a halo ring and sidelight together

The ring or Rings on some Halo lights replace the side lights

so am i write in thinking, if the haloi ring replaces the sidelight and blows, it will fail mot.

but if the halo ring blows but the unit holds my current sideliaght aswell, it will pass mot
